Safety Features in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE
By now you might now that Mercedes-Benz has some of the most innovative technology among automakers. You’ve heard of the industry firsts such as PRE-SAFE and ATTENTION ASSIST, but what else exists? There’s quite a bit, and we’re going to take a look at some of those safety features in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE.
How is the 2018 GLE Keeping You Safe?
The standard features in the 2018 GLE are what separates it from other luxury SUVs. As previously mentioned, the ATTENTION ASSIST feature was innovated by Mercedes-Benz and helps drivers pay attention by alerting them when they become too drowsy. The feature measures up to 70 parameters of driving behavior so it can easily tell when it’s time to pull over or switch drivers.
Another feature worthy of recognition is the PRE-SAFE system. It can sense when a crash may occur (such as during instability or certain sudden maneuvers) and it will then tighten up each of the seat belt pretensioners, adjust the headrests and close the windows and sunroof to better prepare everyone for impact should it occur. In addition to these two features, other standard features that come in the 2018 GLE include:
- Active Brake Assist
- LED Daytime Running Lamps and Taillamps
- Trailer Stability Assist
- Crosswind Assist
- Rearview Camera
- 9 Airbags
- Antilock Braking System
- Brake Assist
- Electronic Stability Program
- Advanced Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- Antitheft Alarm System
- Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers
